October 16 &17 Your Work Your Career! Two Day Event

Your Work Your Career! Two Day Event October 16 &17!

This special two day event is designed to help photographers gain more insight into how their personal work and professional work can be connected.  We’ll start the event off with the launch of our new Mutual Accountability Groups (MAG), which is a re-invention of our Mutual Mentoring Groups.  Then we’ll move into a rare opportunity to see a conversation between an international photographic consultant and a seasoned photographer who has been publishing his own books.
The next day ASMP members and non-members are invited to participate in a portfolio review with reviewers from the New England area.

Mutual Accountability Groups October 16th, 6-6:45pm at EP Levine

The new version of our Mutual Accountability Groups website  will be rolled out.  We have taken all of the feedback we got from the Mutual Mentoring Groups and revamped the program.  Groups will be more independant and self directed.  Members will support each other while directing their own groups.  We’ll do a walkthrough of the new MAG website.  Get started creating your own profile here.

Creating Projects that Create a Career: A Special Evening with Thomas Werner and Peter Miller, October 16th 7-9:30pm at EP Levine.

Thomas Werner will present his talk Artist as Producer covering topics of grant writing and producing a project on a local, national and international level.  Peter Miller will share his work on a Lifetime of Vermont People covering over 60 years of Vermont and its people.

After Thomas’s presentation and Peter’s introduction of his work, they will discuss the the challenges and triumphs in Peter’s production of Liftetime of Vermonters along with Peter’s plans to produce its second edition and publish two new books from his extensive archive: Paris In the 1950s  and Margaux Vendange 1957.

Topics such as self-publishing, proper formats / media for personal work, and current trends / conditions in the photography market will be discussed.  The goal is to help audience members start to see how their personal work could become more of their actual business work and to begin to see how numerous projects can build progressively into a cohesive career rather than many disparate parts.  Q&A will follow.

Peter will have a few first edition copies of Lifetime of Vermont People with him for purchase.

Thomas Werner will be available for consultations during the day on Friday October 17th, please contact Thomas here for details. They will be E.P. Levine, 30 min. for $45.
