ASMP Member Since 2005
Ballot Statement: With 25 years as a professional, I sat confident at the other side of the digital revolution and in shock leaving the treasure of film behind. Thus, in 2005 I began my involvement with ASMP. I have gained more than I have given. Today, I have experienced the training, listened to the lectures, entered the web site 1500 miles from home to duplicate a printout for an instant solution, met my peers, revamped my business compass and now seek this opportunity to give back to an organization that has given to me. I ask to be heard.
I ask you to help me go beyond advocating for the photographer’s rights and become the voice of their vitality, placing them at the top, reassuring them in their future. We must unite our business acumen and speak out about the injustice and abuse that we live as common practice. In a guided principle I ask to help this organization make a statement for all of us that clears away apathy and strengthens transitions into rights managed sales adding purpose and direction to the effort. I ask that we define this new statement as our mission, get support, then bring it to marketplace to be heard loudly.
Further, I would praise the effort that has been accomplished. Tearing down is a waste. Building up the idea, maintaining the purpose and making repairs is more useful. The foundation of ASMP is strong. I seek to make what is — heard loudly.
My effort if elected, would be to validate what we have to offer. This offering is at an extraordinary level so the challenge is forthcoming. I would reach out to the new media and further position it to serve us, just as we have served it. I would reach into this organization, listen and learn, then move results forward into actions.
I seek to gain the support of members and to encourage their investment in the ASMP resource thus making it the primary and vital place for all professional photographers, today.
There is a natural human reserve until an expressed purpose is understood. To express that purpose in 500 words allowed here, is not possible. Give me your vote to overcome this reserve. I will reach out toward change. I will embrace new opportunities in social marketing and content driven vitality. I will serve faithfully and further define our values. I will protect our rights, give our images a new voice and communicate this to the marketplace. “Communicate”… that to belong to ASMP, gets results and gives results.
I ask you for the opportunity to make your cause, my cause.
